Suggested order.

• 1. Talk to a lawyer about your space.
• 2. Check zoning, plus your lease or HOA. Atlanta's home-business limits are in Sec. 16-29.001(17) (details unverified). Municode
• 3. Hold a city or county business licence (Atlanta starts at $50). Atlanta
• 4. Restaurant: whether a guest chef can cook under your permit is unverified. Check with county health.
• 5. Restaurant: the state pop-up route needs your permit, a letter of approval, 3 hours a day, and no cooking on site. DPH FAQ
• 6. Pop-up fees: Fulton $150 per vendor, $300 per facilitator; DeKalb $140. Fulton DeKalb
• 7. Sort your drinks plan: see Drinks below.
• 8. Ask your insurer about ticketed events. Homeowners policies exclude activity "engaged in for money or other compensation." Some policies exempt small side income; get it in writing from your insurer. ISO HO-3

Drinks

• Licensed restaurant or bar: pour under your own licence. Atlanta's special event permit needs an existing Atlanta on-premises licence, so an unlicensed space can't get it. Atlanta § 10-126
• No licence: a licensed caterer can pour under its licence, with a local permit and DOR notice 5 business days ahead. It makes every sale. Atlanta has no catering permit in code; ask APD first (unverified). § 3-11-3 Rule 560-2-13
• BYOB: banned in Forsyth, Alpharetta, Roswell and Johns Creek; Atlanta's unverified. GWB Sundays, Atlanta limits by-the-drink sales to restaurants, stadiums over 3,500 seats and permitted festivals, so an unlicensed space likely can't pour (inference). Atlanta § 10-209
