The Eventbrite column is our calculation from Eventbrite's published formula: standard US pricing, fees passed on to the buyer, which its pages give as the default. Processing is 2.9% of the total order, applied here to the ticket plus the service fee. Eventbrite's published US fee is a percentage with no stated maximum. The Tenseats service fee stops at $4.99. The cap is the Tenseats service fee. Card processing is added at checkout. Organizers also pay one listing fee of $8.99 per ticketed event (pricing).

At some prices (under about $14) the Tenseats guest total is the higher of the two, by less than a dollar. The table shows it as it is.

Is Tenseats an Eventbrite alternative for pop-up dinners?

For pop-up dinners, supper clubs, dinner parties, tastings and cocktail nights, yes. Tenseats is built only for food nights: the Planner costs your recipes and proposes a ticket price, you can book a venue from inside the event you are building, and guests can follow you to your next night. For events that are not food or drink, it is not an alternative, and the verdict above says so.

What does each one charge?

On Tenseats, guests pay the ticket price plus one flat service fee: $1.99 up to a $50 ticket, $2.99 up to $99, and $4.99 above, so it stops at $4.99. The cap is the Tenseats service fee. Card processing is added at checkout. Organizers keep every dollar of the ticket price and pay one listing fee of $8.99 per ticketed event. Free RSVP events are free. Insider membership is $99 a year and takes the service fee to $0. Eventbrite's standard US pricing is a service fee of 3.7% plus $1.79 per sold paid ticket, plus payment processing of 2.9% of the total order. Buyers pay the fees by default and organizers can choose to absorb them. Free tickets carry no fees. Eventbrite's published US fee is a percentage with no stated maximum.
